Here is my final teaser from Sweet Oblivion, A Sweet Series Novel, Book One

Thanks everyone! Don't forget to hop over to the other fabulous blogs =) Enjoy!

~Naminé~

Prisoner number 5287 was located deep in the dungeon. Down a long corridor, past fifty-two prison cells, all filled with ones considered an enemy of the King. They were all his own people, but he condemned them traitors. Some were actual criminals, given a trial and convicted of their crimes. But there were many who never got a trial, never got a say, not even named on the prisoner logs, and forgotten in the dark abyss of the prison.
Down the corridor, three flights of stairs, and through a warded iron gate held a small cage like cell that housed the oldest prisoner here. Prisoner number 5287.
I didn’t know his name.
I didn’t know his crime.
          But he gave me hope.

Happy Indie-Licious Sunday! We're going back to Nari this week, staying in Sweet Oblivion (The Sweet Series, Novel #1).

As I slowly and very carefully walked through the hallway, my heart betrayed my front of bravery, as I grew more and more worried with each advancing step. My eyes stayed glued to the spot Ray had been lying in before, now empty.
But it didn’t matter. None of that mattered, because as I stood staring at the empty spot and relief just starting to come over me at the thought that maybe Ray wasn’t home, someone grabbed me.
With my body stricken and seized with fear, I tried to scream but couldn’t. One strong arm was around my waist holding me to them from behind, the other was forcefully holding cloth against my open mouth and nose. A strong smell of chemical burned my nose, assaulting my lungs and senses. As my head began to swim, I tried desperately to understand what was happening, but no answer made sense. Was this Ray? Was he going to finish what he tried to do last night and finally kill me? Mycah wouldn’t save my life, only to kill me the next day. I kicked and clawed for my freedom, but as hard as I fought against my captor and to stay conscious, I lost the battle.
A black cloth bag was put over my head causing a whole new wave of panic to flood through me, just before my eyes unforgivably fluttered closed.

Welcome back to the Indie-Licious Blog Hop! I will continue with the posts from Sweet Oblivion, the first novel in The Sweet Series. This week you will get another glimpse of what Naminé had to struggle with. Enjoy!

~Naminé~

As boisterous thunder rumbled throughout the land and a torrent of rain pounded away on the soil, millions of sparks of reddish lightning brightened up the night sky. It was our season for tempest storms; a solemn token of the evil that had penetrated the realm and of an oath that had yet to be fulfilled. A constant reminder of the dangerous circumstances we were all in.
The Kingdom of Aselaira was in peril.
Every one of its citizens was vulnerable, defenseless, and hopeless. Havoc and bloodshed permeated the land. The stone walls of Castle Edhel-N’dor, which were once beauteous and majestic, were deteriorating inside and out. There was no one left to see to its upkeep.
Every man, boy, husband, was fielded to the garrison to prepare for warfare. Every woman, girl, wife, set aside to clean, cook, and nurse the injured. As a servant in the castle, one must keep to your duties or stay in your chambers, and above all else slave after the needs of the royal family, especially the King.
I tried not to despair, as this was my everyday life. I was vulnerable, defenseless, but with every ounce of my being I refused to remain hopeless. Even as I was a servant in the castle, I had my special ability; my gift that I kept hidden. With much misery and sorrow, I kept Calen - my Fëa - hidden as well. Together, we used these abilities to find hope.
We used these abilities to find him.

Welcome to this week's Indie-Licious Blog Hop! From now on (well, for the time being), I am going to be using teasers from Sweet Oblivion, the first novel in The Sweet Series.

Enjoy!
Sweet Oblivion (Book #1)

As I walk out of the store, I stop in my tracks upon seeing this lone figure leaning against the wall outside. He was wearing dark jeans and a dark fitted long sleeve shirt with the sleeves pushed up to his elbows, exposing his perfect lightly tanned skin. His shirt hugged his muscles just right, accentuating he was tall and slender. A shadow fell just over his face so I couldn’t quite see it and his black hair was gently layered over his eyes, but it looked like he was giving death stares to a map.
He could have been the devil or maybe an angel, I wasn’t sure. But one thing I did know is he took my breath away. Something about him screamed dangerous yet extremely alluring, leaving me completely mesmerized. My eyes fell to his neck, marked by the strangest tattoo I had ever seen. I think it was a tattoo anyway. It was really hard to tell through the shadows and distance I was standing from, but it looked to be a mixture of ink and…scars? It was small and sat right in the middle of the left side of his neck.
I quickly turn on my heel before he notices me gawking at him, feeling like a complete idiot for standing there as long as I did trying to make out his tattoo...thing. Whatever it was. Either way, I tried to catch the breath that I somehow lost just from his presence. I have no idea what was wrong with me; apparently I've gone crazy.

I have something special for you today!!!

Check it out!

Wolf Spell Bloopers! With the tour for Wolf Spell getting ready to kick off, I thought we (Ian, Es, Jarak and myself) could let you in on some of the fun and not so fun moments writing Wolf Spell. We had a lot of outtakes, bloopers and deleted scenes. Some of them we swore to never speak of again, but for the purpose of entertainment we have agreed to divulge a couple!

          Deleted Scene
The day was gloomy with white snow clouds hovering over the little town of Elko. I looked out my window to watch as a flock of blackbirds swooped low past my house. I hit another block. Well, I wouldn’t call it a block, more of a disagreement with my character. Seriously, why does Es have to be so complicated and stubborn? I already told her I didn’t want to go there and she ups and does it anyway. Now she thinks she can awaken the witches before book two? Why does she do this to me?
I stare at my computer screen, watching as the curser blinks like its mocking me. The following is a deleted scene that I promised Es would never make it in the book…

Ian grabbed the stake and forcefully pushed it in my hand. I wasn’t ready for this. What if something happens and I make the curse worse instead of better?
“You’ll need it incase a breed gets through the spell.” His eyes were hard set on me, making me want to shrink back.
Where was Jarak? Shouldn’t he be here with me instead of Ian? My heart pounded hard and I could hear my pulse in my ears. I didn’t really want Ian to leave, I didn’t want Jarak to be the one with me. What was my problem? I shook my head and took a step back, needing some breathing room so I could think clearer.
I shoved the stake back into his hand. “I don’t need it.”
“What the hell Es!” His total change in attitude bewildered me. I didn’t know what was wrong.
He held up his hand… The same one I put the stake in. Only I hadn’t realized how much strength I used and the it was sticking out, completely embedded in his palm. I gasped and went to reach out for him. “Oh my gosh, I am soooo sorry. Let me help.”
He pulled it out with a groan deep in his throat.  “No, you’ve done enough.”
I wanted to cry, that wasn’t supposed to happen. Um, M.R. can we start this scene over? Or better yet, can we just delete it altogether? I don’t want to relive this. I’m so humiliated. I can’t believe I did that.

          Blooper from page 127 – chapter 10

Wimpy witch my ass, all the week’s frustrations I had pent up churned inside me. I’d show him. The sprout grew about an inch and blossoms formed into tiny leaves, letting me know I’d made a connection with it.
He used his hands to beckon me. “Come on, I have all night for you to make me moan.”
I busted out laughing. “Moan? I thought your line was; I have all night for you to make me whine. “ I sauntered closer to him, overly swinging my hips to play with him. “But, I can make you whimper and moan if you’d like.”
“Ah crap. I can’t believe I said that.” He rubbed his hands over his face.
“Maybe deep down you really want something else,” I continued to tease him. It was too easy. Not that I wouldn’t mind doing that with him instead of training, but it was fun to see him frustrated.
He threw his head back. “M.R. Can we start that over?”
I laughed. “I agree, I think Jarak here needs to regroup so he doesn’t moan.”

Words that made life interesting while writing Wolf Spell….

Lightening…. Should be lightning… Um ya, sorry about that!

Dessert… you guessed it, it should be desert… stupid homophones!

Effect and affect… seriously? Who decided on this crap when making the English language? Were they affected by the stupid mushroom they were smoking? GRRRRR…..

Blonde VS. Blond … really? Who cares! He/she has freaking yellow hair! LOL

Had been…. Okay, I can’t go there without crying right now.

Really, like, very and have… those words follow me everywhere…. I really don’t understand. I have to use them or nothing comes out the way I like. I had a very hard time with it. Okay, not really, but I wanted to use those words very bad! LOL

Thank you for letting me vent a little about the writing of Wolf Spell…  I hope you had fun laughing at a couple of my experiences and like the book. (trust me there were plenty more!) So far book two is even more interesting and the scenes have been deleted many times!

With a death starts a new beginning...

Eighteen-year-old Esmerelda thinks she’s just a normal girl, but all of that changes the day of her mom’s funeral, when a warlock, intent on using her special powers, kidnaps her. Powers she didn’t know existed. Thrown in the middle of a magical battle, Es struggles to learn her magic while fleeing both vampires and warlocks, at the same time, hunting for the witches that can help defeat her adversary. The only problem is that they are dead.

Thankfully, she has the help of Jarak—her Guardian—who quickly captures her heart, but she wonders if she can win his? Just when she thinks Jarak is the one for her, Ian appears with daggers drawn to save Es from a vampire attack. Ian is cocky and rude, but there is something magnetic about him—something that attracts her to him. With her heart torn between two men, she faces the foes that are out for her blood.

Can Es do the unthinkable and awaken them from their graves before time runs out?

Where can you find Wolf Spell?

Hello fellow readers…

It's been a hectic week :-) My in-laws are in town visiting, along with my 4 year old niece, what a cutie!
She went on her first plane ride to come visit us in Florida and is so excited! As soon as she got in the car when I picked them up she says, “Where’s the beach? I don’t see any sand.” Lol!

Hopefully we will get to the beach while they are here so she can play in the sand!

Sadly, I have to take a little time off from writing Sweet Escape while they are here, but I will pick right back up when they leave. My sister and I are about half-way through and very excited so far!

I also have a ton of ‘to-read’ books on my list, which I am very ecstatic about, so I have lots to do after they leave, but plan on enjoying the time with them while they are here.

Have a great Thursday everyone, it’s almost the weekend!
